Born and raised in Cadiz in southwestern Spain, Juan Valverde aka Perla takes his musical alias from his long time nickname. A music aficionado since a tender age, he got into modern electronic music at the turn of the century, first collecting favourites on vinyl. Shortly thereafter, upon discovering the underground house scene in Sevilla, he bought a pair of decks just to play the records in his burgeoning collection.
